History
Third Day Worship Centre (3DWC) started out as Frontline Worship Centre (FWC) in 1997. Frontline Worship Centre (FWC) met at a public school gym in Kingston, Ontario for about a year. There were about 60 people meeting at the gym when we relocated. From there the church moved to leased property at a former and renovated pool hall for about 16 months. The building seated 120, and we were at 150 in six months. We left there with an attendance of 180. Because the building was outgrown faster than anticipated,
we were looking for other facilities. That took us to the old KMart building in Kingston. We grew there from 180 to 250 in attendance. We leased and the landlord moderately renovated about 22,000 square feet. We were there for about 2 years, and moved to the Dacon property on Gardiners Road in Kingston, Ontario.
We were looking for permanent facilities. We leased about 12,000 square feet. We moved out in the summer of 2002 because the building was about to be demolished due to commercial development. Dacon accommodated us with interim facilities until we moved into our own building at 999 Sydenham Road in Kingston, Ontario during the month of September in 2002. Shortly after we moved into this building, we proceeded with an official name change to Third Day Worship Centre (3DWC).
Zec. 4:10 - Do not despise these small beginnings,
for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel's hand. For these seven lamps represent the eyes of
the LORD that search all around the world."
Finally we were in our own facilities. Because we have five acres, there is room to build another sanctuary in the future as finances permit. There is no question that this property is valuable and desirable based on inquiries
from land developers.
At this time the average attendance in the Sunday morning service is about 450-500, and the evening is also close to the same number in attendance. The mid-week service has about 200-250 in attendance.
Besides the Kingston congregation, other churches are in the process of being planted in the larger area which represents approximately another 90 people weekly.
Where are we going? We believe that media will be a big part of our future five days a week. We will be planting other churches nationally and internationally. We have a goal of a 5000 member church, and we have the room on our property to build accordingly at the right time. We believe that at some point we will need more property. We are heading for a "k to 12" school at some point. We also see the creation and development of a 24/7 PRAYER CENTRE at the right time. We see continual growth in all of the existing ministries of the church. There is a book (Two books have already been written) already written, and we see more books published as a result of the work of Pastor Francis Armstrong. We have produced a Music CD and are currently working on producing a second Music CD, with more to follow. We are in the preparatory stages of a Day Care Centre. We believe there will always be provision for the vision we have stated above.
